Buffalo Police: Protester injured when struck by pickup truck in Niagara Square Full Video
A person was struck by a pickup at a protest in Niagara Square Wednesday night, police and witnesses at the scene said.
The victim's injuries weren't considered life threatening, a police source said.
The vehicle suspected of striking the victim was stopped, consistent with police.
A video streamed live by a witness at the scene captured the instant . within the video, a gaggle of protesters surrounds a white car between hall and therefore the McKinley monument. The witness recording the video says he had heard that the car had struck someone, but it doesn't appear anyone is injured. Seconds later, a pickup drives toward the gang and a loud sound is heard. The pickup then drives off.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa,” says the witness within the video, later adding, “so one person was just hit.”
The collision can't be seen within the video. Several people run after the truck, trying to follow it. a gaggle of individuals is then seen around a pickup stopped on Court Street, near the police and fire headquarters building.
Police, at about 9:30 p.m., said no arrests had been made.
Two protesters at the scene said they believe the driving force of the pickup was an equivalent as a lady who was yelling at the protesters earlier within the night.
